India's armed forces are ready, the situation between China and India is serious
Bipin Rawat, chief of staff of India's defense ministry, told the Standing Committee of the national defense ministry on Friday (September 11) that the Indian armed forces are ready for what should happen, and the tension between India and China is still serious.
Indian congressman Rahul Gandhi attended the meeting, his first time in the lower house of Parliament. Gandhi has been outspoken in criticizing the Indian government's handling of China's border disputes.
General ravat told the commission that the armed forces had taken sufficient steps and measures to prevent any further attempts by China to change the status quo along the line of actual control.
The general also said that the defense forces remain vigilant and will respond appropriately to China in the event of any border incident.
General ravat made similar remarks at the US India Strategic Partnership Forum earlier this month. India's foreign minister, s Jaishankar, met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Russia on Thursday to ease tensions after the border conflict intensified.
The Indian government said that among other issues, sujiesheng stressed India's "strong concern about the concentration of Chinese troops and equipment along the line of actual control.".
After the meeting, a joint statement said India and China agreed to ease border tensions and take measures to restore "peace and tranquility.". The statement also said the two sides also agreed that the current situation is not in their best interests and that the army should withdraw quickly to ease the tension.
Wang Yi further expressed his support for strengthening dialogue between the armed forces to solve "specific problems".
According to the source, India told China that the top priority is to "prevent any unpleasant events in the future" and "ensure the full withdrawal of troops from all friction areas".
Meanwhile, Gandhi, who accused the Indian government of concealing China's occupation of Indian territory and the "surrender" of Indian Prime Minister Narendra modi to China's aggression, tweeted.
"The only" dialogue "with China is about restoring the" status quo "of March 2020 (before the outbreak of the border crisis). The prime minister and government of India have refused to take responsibility for driving China out of our land. All the other "conversations" are worthless, "he declared.

"The Chinese have taken our land. When does the Indian government plan to take it back? Or is it the will of God Gandhi added.

In a new round of conflict earlier this week, China accused India of crossing the line of control - along the southern bank of Bangong Lake, east of Ladakh - and firing a warning shot in provocative action.
