Twelve ministers resigned as the epidemic raged
The situation is taking a sharp turn for the worse. For India, the current situation can be described as "what you are afraid of comes from what you are afraid of".
Up to now, India has more than 30.7 million new crown confirmed cases, and the gap with the United States (34.64 million) is gradually narrowing.
At the same time, Delta, a new coronavirus variant first found in India, has spread to 104 countries and regions.
As the saying goes, there are no two blessings, and disasters never come singly. At the critical moment, three more bad news came from India, which is full of disasters.
The first bad news is the "great earthquake" in Indian politics, in which 12 ministers resigned.
On the 7th local time, the epidemic situation in India hit a record high, with a total of 400000 new deaths.
It was against this background that 12 ministers, including Indian Health Minister waldan and it minister, announced their resignations, and then Indian president covind accepted their resignations.
Later, modi announced a large-scale reshuffle of the cabinet, with rijizhu as Minister of justice and mandavia as Minister of health and Minister of chemical industry and fertilizer.
It is worth noting that modi's "right-hand arms" - Foreign Minister Su Jiesheng and defense minister have not been "fired" and remain in their original posts.
This is modi's largest cabinet reshuffle since he took office in 2014, and his first reshuffle since he began his second term in 2019.
After the government reshuffle, modi said on social media that the government will continue to work hard to realize the aspirations of the Indian people and build a "strong and prosperous" India.
Among the 12 senior officials who were "opened" this time, the one who attracted the most attention was health minister waldan.
In March this year, waldan publicly announced that India had entered the "end" of the epidemic. However, a month later, the second round of the outbreak swept through India. Many hospitals in India were in urgent need of medical resources, and even crematoria were lined up.
In the words of Reuters, as health minister, waldan had to be responsible for the serious failure of modi's government to deal with the second wave of the epidemic.
However, India's opposition parties, which are eyeing the audience, don't think so.
Chidambaram, leader of the opposition party, said that modi's replacement of the health minister is tantamount to acknowledging the government's incompetence in fighting the epidemic, and modi should bear the main responsibility for this.
Chidambaram also sarcastically said that the resignations of the 12 ministers "taught everyone a lesson". If things go well, the prime minister will take all the credit to himself, and if things go wrong, the minister will become a "scapegoat".
Well, Chidambaram's subtext is very direct - "the one who should be replaced most should be modi."
The second bad news is that as the epidemic rages, millions of Indians are falling into poverty, but the wealth of the top rich is on the rise.
Affected by the continuous severe epidemic situation, India's domestic economy is experiencing recession, and millions of Indians fall into poverty due to unemployment and bankruptcy.
However, just as these Indians are worrying about their livelihood, India's top rich have become richer and more influential.
Ambani, the richest man in India and the boss of Reliance Industries, has more than $80 billion in wealth, up nearly $15 billion from 2020, according to the ranking of the index.
Adani, the founder of India's Adani group, has made a more exaggerated increase. At present, his wealth has exceeded 55 billion US dollars, while in 2020, his total wealth will be less than 13 billion US dollars.
In fact, it's not surprising that this has happened. At present, almost every major industry in India is monopolized by one or two very powerful companies.
In the words of mukherya, the founder of Marcellus investment management company in the United States, India's economic situation has reached such a stage that the top 15 family businesses share 90% of the profits of India's national business.
It's very appropriate to use "death of drought and death of waterlogging" to describe the current social situation. The persistent severe epidemic situation has widened India's already wide gap between the rich and the poor.
Top rich people enjoy the best living conditions and medical standards, of course, do not have to worry about new crown infection.
Take Ambani for example, before India ushered in the second wave of the epidemic, he took his family to take a private plane to Britain for "refuge".
The richer the rich, the poorer the poor. This is the current situation in India.
The third bad news is that the Indian military made an "international joke" and 900 confidential documents were leaked.
Recently, two soldiers were arrested by Punjab police on suspicion of providing confidential documents to ISI.
According to police, the two men were accused of "espionage" and leaked confidential documents from a sensitive combat brigade in the Cargill area to Pakistan.
One of them worked as a clerk at the headquarters of the 121st infantry brigade of the Indian army in Cargill and had access to sensitive information including operational details.
Until they were captured, they had shared at least 900 photos of confidential documents with Pakistani agents in just four months.
In fact, this is not the first time since the beginning of this year that the Indian army has leaked confidential documents.
In February this year, a serious data leakage case occurred at the headquarters of Indian army Northern Command. An Indian soldier passed a lot of confidential information to Pakistan. Until now, the Indian military is still investigating the incident.
Frequent leaks highlight the lack of management within the Indian army. The chaos and lack of morale within the Indian army will inevitably affect the overall combat effectiveness of the Indian army.
It should be noted that the Indian army's Northern Command is located in the center of the "South Asia powder keg" and is mainly responsible for the security near the actual line of control in Jammu and Kashmir. In this context, the frequent disclosure of confidential documents is by no means good news.
Finally, I'd like to make a brief comment.
If India wants to develop and its people want to live and work in peace and contentment, modi is the "first responsible person". Modi must clearly realize that the urgent task is to control the epidemic as soon as possible and create a better social environment and living conditions for the Indian people.
